"One of the last conversations I had with Nuci was about this CD. He had finished most of the work on it and was pleased. A week later, Thanksgiving 1996, he took his own life -- the culmination of a long, hard-fought battle with clinical depression. The forty-nine minutes contained on this disc are his legacy. It is his music that best defines his life.

After Nuci's death, his father, brother and I created in his memory a place called Nuci's Space in Athens, Georgia. It is a nonprofit resource/support center for musicians and we provide a low cost counseling referral program for musicians who suffer from depression or other such disorders.

As those of us who knew and loved him can attest, Nuci was caring, intelligent, funny and very talented. He touched many in his short twenty-two years. I know that nothing would please him more than to have his music listened to. I also know that he knew we'd make it happen.
